Well, I hope you all had a lovely Easter. The snow cleared enough last week for us to have several lovely days when the boys and their cousins were able to play outside. They were like wild things set free and came inside only long enough to eat and drink 🙂
I have so many new things to show you its hard to know where to start. I think I’ll begin with a new baby blanket design I’ve been working on.
Houndstooth-effect baby blanket
Houndstooth close up
This blanket has been worked entirely in treble crochet with a long treble to give a houndstooth effect. The pink and purple version is completed and available in my Etsy store and I am working on a green-brown-cream version at the moment. I am also working on a tutorial for this stitch and will be posting that for you in the next few days.
Apologies for two posts in one day but I forgot to share this lovely post with you from Marie at MACCrochet. I draw so much inspiration from the community of crafters out there on the tinternet, its amazing to find that other people get something back from me. Thanks so very much Marie 🙂 xxx
I thought you might enjoy this interview with Katie from My Small World. She is the Craft Britannia shop-of-the-week and a very talented lady. A must if you are a fan of hand sewn bears.
Until next time, with love
This week’s CraftBritannia Shop of the Week is My Small World, and today we talk to Katie, who makes hand sewn bears, freemotion felt and fabric pieces, felt cases, jewellery, badges and much more!
When you are not doing Etsy related things, what are you doing?
Oooh there are far too many things to mention in such a short space, but here’s a sample of what I get up to….
Blythe dolls are my main obsession, and I got into the hobby about four years ago. I know that some (OK, quite a few!) people find the dolls weird, and the concept of collecting them even weirder, but I’ve made so many lovely new friends with the hobby. Some of these friends I’ve met in real life, including one who travelled from the USA to last year’s annual Blythecon UK (which was held as a charity event in London)…
Just a quickie as I had to share the news. My brand new website is LIVE !!! www.bekaboocrafts.com. I’m so excited about my new venture 🙂 I hope you can pop in and have a look and let me know what you think 🙂
I’m not being lazy really, I’m just experimenting! If I’m right I can share other peoples blog posts with you 🙂 How cool is that! Hope you don’t mind Louise…
I’m a member of the CraftBritannia team on Etsy and each week we feature and promote one of our members shops. This week its the fabulous Sunny Crystals aka Sue. Below is a link to Louise’s blog post about some of the lovely 3D cards available in Sue’s shop.
Now, I’m much more of a jewellery gal so here are just a couple of my favourite items from Sue’s shop. She has many more beautiful items for sale so do pop along for a browse. You won’t be disappointed 🙂
Finally, my very first blog post! I have no idea where this will lead but I hope to share my love of crochet and my adventures exploring the world of crafting.
Where to being? Well, perhaps with my latest work in progess (WIP…I only figured that out recently!). As its jubilee year I gathered together some red white and blue yarn and have set about creating a cushion cover. I just have to crochet the panels together and sew on the buttons but here is a sneak preview 🙂
